Terms of Service

1. Accounts

• Users (teachers, students, and parents) must provide accurate information when creating accounts.
• Accounts may not be shared or transferred.
• Users are responsible for keeping their login credentials secure and must notify TechU immediately of unauthorized access or breaches.
• Schools and teachers are responsible for ensuring they have proper authority to create and manage student accounts.

2. Eligibility and Consent

• TechU is designed for students in 3rd grade and above.
• Students under 18 may only use TechU with parental or school consent.
• By creating or managing student accounts, teachers, parents, and schools represent that they have the authority to do so.

3. Payments and Subscriptions

• Payments may be made by parents or schools via Stripe.
• Subscriptions are billed in advance and are non-refundable.
• Cancellations take effect at the next billing cycle; access continues until the end of the paid period.
• If payment is not received, TechU may suspend or terminate access to the Services.

4. Intellectual Property and User Content

• All platform technology, content, and materials are the property of TechU and protected by intellectual property laws.
• Users retain ownership of any educational content they upload (e.g., assignments, lesson materials), but grant TechU a limited license to use, display, and process that content solely to operate and improve the Services.
• Unauthorized use, copying, or distribution of TechU’s platform content is prohibited.

5. User Conduct

Users must use TechU responsibly and respectfully. Prohibited activities include:

• Cheating, harassment, or bullying
• Uploading or sharing inappropriate, offensive, or illegal content
• Attempting to hack, disrupt, or misuse the platform
• Spamming, unauthorized advertising, or commercial use
• Off-platform communication with students for unauthorized purposes

6. Termination

• TechU may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, misuse the Services, or fail to pay required fees.
• Parents, teachers, or schools may request account deletion at any time, subject to our Privacy Policy.
• Upon termination, user access ends immediately. Data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

• TechU provides the Services “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind.
• We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access, or that the Services will meet every user’s expectations.

8. Limitation of Liability

• To the fullest extent permitted by law, TechU and its affiliates are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including data loss or lost profits.
• Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of:
  1. The amount paid by you to TechU in the last 3 months, or
  2. $100 USD.

9. Indemnification

Users agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless TechU and its affiliates from claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising from:

• Misuse of the Services
• Violation of these Terms
• Infringement of any third-party rights

10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

• These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA.
• Any disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association (AAA).
• Arbitration will take place in Delaware unless otherwise agreed.
• Either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court.
• Class actions and jury trials are waived to the fullest extent permitted by law.

11. Updates to These Terms

• We may update these Terms from time to time.
• Updates will be posted on our website with a new “Last Updated” date.
• For material changes, we will also notify users by email or in-app message.
